A real business line, not your personal cell.

Right now your business number is your own phone number. That means customers have your personal line forever, your call history lives on one device, and nobody else can ever answer anything.

Everything lives on one phoneCustomers have your personal number forever, nobody else can pick up, and the whole call history walks out the door with the handset.

Switch the number

What it costs you

Running a business on your personal number costs you more than you think

It works fine until it doesn’t, and the moments it fails are expensive ones.

You can never actually be off

Customers call your personal phone at eight on a Sunday because that’s the only number they have. There’s no way to separate work from life when they’re the same line.

Nobody else can help

Your spouse or office person can’t answer or return calls, because everything comes to your handset. You are permanently the bottleneck.

Your history walks out the door

Change phones or carriers and the call log, texts and voicemails go with it. If you ever hire, sell, or just want records of what was agreed, none of it exists in the business.

How it works

One number for the business, still ringing your phone

Nothing about how you take calls has to change. What changes is who owns the number and what the business can do with it.

1 Setup

You get a local business number

A real local number in your area code. Or we can port your existing business number over so nothing on your truck has to change.

2 Instantly

It rings your cell like normal

Calls come to the phone in your pocket. You answer as you always have. Caller ID shows it came in on the business line so you know how to answer it.

3 Behind the scenes

The business keeps the record

Every call, text and voicemail is logged to the business, visible in your inbox, and available to anyone you give access to. Your personal number never gets exposed.

Set up once, then it runs on its own. See it on your phone

What you get

What’s in it

Local number in your area code

People are more likely to answer and more likely to call a local number. We can also port a number you already advertise.

The number can receive texts

A lot of customers would rather text than call. A normal landline can’t receive texts; this can, and it’s what makes missed-call text-back possible.

Your personal number stays private

You call and text customers from the business line even when you’re using your own handset. They never see your personal number.

Voicemail you can actually read

Voicemails get transcribed into your inbox as text, so you can scan them at a red light instead of listening to six messages.

Route calls where they need to go

Ring your phone, or your phone and the office at once, or a different phone after hours. It can be as simple or as structured as you need.

Call history that belongs to the business

Who called, when, how long, what was said afterwards. It stays with the business rather than with a handset.

Why it matters

This is the foundation the rest of it sits on

On its own a business line is a small convenience. What makes it matter is that almost everything else depends on it.

Missed-call text-back can only work if the number can send texts, which a personal cell can’t do automatically and a landline can’t do at all. The unified inbox only has calls and texts in it because they run through this line. Follow-up automation needs to be able to message people. Take the business number away and half the system has nowhere to stand.

The separate benefit is the one contractors feel immediately: you get your own phone back. Not because calls stop, but because you can tell which ones are work before you answer, and you can decide what happens to the business line after six without ignoring people who might be family.

And it’s an asset. A business number that has been on your truck and your listings for five years has real value. Owning it, rather than having it be a personal cell you might change, matters more the longer you’re in business.

Straight answers

Questions people ask about this one

Do I need to carry a second phone?

No. It rings your existing phone. The only difference is the caller ID tells you it’s a business call and your replies go out from the business number.

Can I keep the number I already advertise?

In most cases yes — we can port it over so nothing on your truck, your signs or your listings has to change. We’ll check whether yours is portable before you commit to anything.

What happens to the number if I cancel?

You can port it out to another provider, exactly like moving between cell carriers. We won’t hold a number you’ve been advertising for years.

Is there a per-minute charge?

Normal business usage is included in your plan. We’ll flag it if your volume is unusual enough to matter, rather than surprising you on a bill.

Does it work if I have bad signal on job sites?

It rings your cell, so it has the same coverage your phone does. What it adds is that anything you miss gets texted back automatically and logged, so a dead zone stops costing you the lead.

Not sure this is your bottleneck?

Book a call and we’ll look at where work is actually leaking before recommending anything.
